What are Medical Facials
Medical facials are specialised facial treatments performed in a medical clinic. Unlike spa facials, medical facials are designed to address specific skin concerns using medical-grade products and devices.
Medical facials can help with many skin issues, including acne, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, and dull or dry skin.
What are the benefits of a Medical Facial?
One of the best things about medical facials is that if you have a skin concern, you already qualify for a medical facial.
Other benefits of medical facials you may want to consider include the following:
Safe and Convenient
Medical Facials are extremely safe and convenient treatments. Not only can facials be completed in under an hour, but they also have little risk. Even after your treatment, you will not need to schedule any downtime.
Promotes Skin Health
Maintaining skin health should always be your top priority, and medical-grade facials constitute a significant game-changer. Because these facials help support your skin's natural barrier, increase the turnover of the skin, and remove impurities, a medical facial promotes better skin health, which helps to keep your skin looking younger and more vibrant.
It helps Skincare Products Work Better.
Exfoliation removes dead skin cells and allows skin products to work better. At-home exfoliation is often imperfect and doesn't remove enough skin cells to make a difference. For that reason, medical-grade facials are vital if you want to improve how your anti-ageing serums and acne-fighting products work.
Give Your Skin Some TLC With Medical Grade Facials
While your at-home skin routine is essential, many over-the-counter products can only do so much to improve your skin's overall appearance and health. Medical-grade facials are highly effective non-invasive treatments that can improve skin health and reduce visible signs of ageing.
What is the difference between a Spa Facial and a Medical Facial?
The main difference between a spa facial and a medical facial is that a spa facial focuses on relaxing and superficially rejuvenating the skin. Spa Facials are cleansing, exfoliating or massaging using fragranced essential oils and other feel-good products.
In contrast, a medical-grade facial focuses on improving the skin's health and tackling specific skin concerns. Medical facials are also performed by a professional in diagnosing and treating skin conditions using medical-grade products and devices. Medical Facials often combine the use of advanced technologies like chemical peels and light therapy to improve skin texture, tone, and overall appearance.
Who is suitable for a Medical Facial?
Almost anyone is suitable for a medical facial, and regular facials with an aesthetic expert should be part of your regular skincare routine. Although ordinary facials can exfoliate, deeply cleanse, and extract impurities from the skin, there are a few circumstances where an advanced facial may be the method to use.
When should I have a Medical Facial?
There are several reasons why you may want a medical facial.
You Have Specific Skin Needs
Specific skin needs can refer to conditions such as fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, enlarged pores, and acne. Many cannot always be treated with over-the-counter products alone. Medical-grade facials are a solution to many superficial skin concerns.
You Want to Boost Your Skins Health
If you want to boost your skin, an individually tailored medical facial is a great way to protect, enhance and maintain the skin's health and function.
You Want to Enhance Treatment Results
Medical facials enhance the results of other aesthetic treatments. For example, if you have acne, regular medical facials can help keep your pores clear of dead skin cells and acne-causing bacteria. Similarly, anti-ageing treatments can be supplemented with medical facials that promote collagen production within the skin.
How Do Medical Grade Facials Work?
A medical-grade facial is very similar to a spa facial. The main difference is the type and strength of the products used to treat your skin.
Before your medical facial, you must attend a consultation to determine which of our advanced facials best match your skin's needs and skincare goals.
During your consultation, we will examine the condition of your skin. We will ask about your general skin history, and we will also talk about the skincare products you currently use.

Preparation
Advanced facials are skin treatments that can be completed in about 30 to 60 minutes. However, you will still need to prepare your skin before your treatment. The most important thing you need to do is temporarily stop using retinols in your skincare routine for at least one to three days before your treatment. You should also stop using chemical exfoliants and or home-use acids for at least three days.
Step One: Cleansing
The first step in any facial is cleansing to remove dirt, oil, and makeup from the skin. Cleansing your face will remove any dirt, oil, or other impurities that may interact with the chemicals used during your facial. We will ask you to come to the clinic without any makeup. Choose a gentle, non-drying cleanser that is suitable for your skin type.
Step Two: Medical Facial
The next step of your treatment will be your medical facial treatment. The exact steps of your treatment will depend on the facial you selected. This part of the treatment focuses on exfoliating the skin and removing impurities from the pores.
Step Three: Moisturising
The final step of your advanced facial will be hydrating the skin. This step is essential since the chemicals and techniques used during your facial will remove some moisture from your skin. Hydrating your skin immediately after your facial will help lock in moisture into your skin cells.
Our Range of Medical Facials
At Rejuvenate Face, we offer several medical-grade facial options to help you promote your skin health and refine the appearance of your skin.
We believe in a fully bespoke approach to your skin treatment, so our facial options can all be personalised that is ideal for your skin needs. See our treatments below:

Tailored personally for your skin's needs. This facial targets dehydrated skin and is a great treatment to boost your collagen levels with added growth factors to stimulate your collagen and elastin production. Includes exfoliation, epidermal needling, growth factor face mask and LED light therapy to repair.
What other treatments can you have with a Medical Facial?
Medical-grade facials are easily combined with several other treatments. While medical facials gently resurface the skin to improve skin performance and appearance, other treatments can be used to address issues such as active lines and wrinkles and volume loss. Injectable treatments, microneedling, and all our skincare products are all easily combined with medical facial treatment.
Aftercare Advice
After your facial is complete, you will need to protect your skin. As the sun is the leading cause of skin damage, it is essential that you wear adequate sun protection all day, even on days when you plan to be inside, or the weather is cloudy. See our post "Sunscreen - not just for the summer" if you want to learn more.
We always conduct a thorough skin consultation and health check to ensure we understand your skin, offer you the best home care advice and deliver the best possible treatment.
All our treatments are tailored to suit your individual skin, as we believe all skins are unique, and one treatment does not fit all.
