MICRONEEDLING
What is microneedling?
Micro-needling is a method of skin rejuvenation that uses ultrafine needles to make tiny holes in the skin that stimulates your skin’s natural healing process and boosts the production of collagen and elastin. This will give your complexion a more youthful appearance, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, reduce scarring and break down pigmentation.
The procedure and products used
To perform the micro-needling, we use either a Derma FNS™ or M-Pro mechanical pens or a manual needling device (roller) depending on the size of the area to be treated. After the treatment, soothing active ingredients can be used to hydrate, nourish and protect the skin for a small additional cost (see price list). A course of three treatments, six weeks apart, is recommended to gain the full benefits following this treatment.
We do use a local anaesthetic cream to numb the area to be treated before hand so this is a more comfortable experience.
Microneedling can be combined with chemical peels, Mesotherapy cocktails (active ingredients) and PRP.
Downtime
Microneedling is a very safe procedure when carried out by a professionally trained practitioner. Most people will experience mild reddening of the skin, and possibly some pinpoint bleeding and minor bruising. This is entirely normal. The redness usually improves within 12-48 hours.
