What is Botulinum toxin?
Botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine which is injected into or adjacent to the muscles of the face. By preventing the muscles from contracting, lines and wrinkles that have formed by facial movement are decreased. These effects last up to three to four months.
The procedure and products we use
We only use FDA approved products from leading manufacturers. The injections are administered by Dr Andy Taylor who is a Level 7 qualified aesthetic practitioner. The procedure takes only a few minutes and no anaesthesia is required. The full effects are usually seen within two weeks.
Risks and side-effects
Botulinum toxin is considered a low-risk treatment; however, it is possible to experience some side effects. Dr Taylor will discuss this in detail at the initial consultation. Please also refer to the ACE group information guide.
