PRP Hair Restoration

Hair loss is a common problem. There are several options available to halt or even regenerate hair.

Most involve tablets or topical foams that you need to use continuously, with the downside of unwanted and troublesome side effects.

Your hair loss also starts again once they are stopped. And some are quite literally "just for men"!

Why not try the most natural way to restore your hair? Read on to discover our more safe, natural and effective treatment approach.

Our Hair Restoration Method

At Rejuvenate face, we use Platelet Rich Plasma [PRP] as the most natural way to regenerate your hair.

PRP is either injected next to the hair follicle [mesotherapy or nappage], medically needled [microneedling or transdermal delivery], or applied using a combination of both!

PRP is undoubtedly the most natural way to:

  • Wake sleeping or ageing hair follicles.

  • Stimulate new hair growth.

  • Or halt the progression of hair loss.

See our webpage "Platelet Rich Plasma" to find out more about PRP.

Hair Restoration Method

PRP and hair restoration

Platelets are an essential component of the blood and, when used for non-surgical cosmetic treatments, have few side effects or complications compared to other forms of rejuvenation.

PRP is considered a safe and effective stand-alone treatment for treating hair loss in both men and women.

How do platelets stimulate hair growth?

Platelets release hundreds of growth factors when activated in the skin;

Growth factors stimulate new hair follicles to grow in a number of ways:

  • Preventing hair follicle cells from dying

  • Prolongs the growth phase of the hair follicles

  • Increasing the amount of collagen at the base of the hairs

  • Encouraging small blood vessels to form, which supply essential oxygen and nutrients to the root of the problem!

How many treatments are needed to restore hair loss?

This varies but it is generally recommended to have:

  • One session monthly for 3 months.

  • Four over the next 12 months

  • Then once per year as maintenance.

Is Microneedling or injection of PRP better for hair restoration?

The jury is still out on this! We use a combination of microneedling and injections of PRP 1 cm apart to maximise the chances of hair growth. Either one is ok. A volume of around 7 ml to 10 ml of PRP gives the best results. The quality of the platelets injected is, however, more critical! Better platelets means that a better mix of growth factors are released!

Can PRP be combined with other treatments?

Yes. PRP can be combined with both tablets and hair transplantation surgery. PRP is regarded as an adjuvant treatment to both and may increase the effectiveness of other ways we treat hair loss issues.
