Vaccines and cosmetic treatments

Any infection, viral or bacterial, will produce an immune response. Vaccines also stimulate an immune response that varies from one type to another.

Dermal fillers

Recent reports in the press refer to a very small number of patients using the Moderna Vaccine suffered swelling with dermal fillers.

To ensure your treatments are without incident, we recommend not having dermal filler treatments within 3-4 weeks of a vaccine.

Should you experience any swelling that concerns you, please do not hesitate to contact us (even if the filler was given before your vaccine as this may be delayed).

Botulinum toxin

There is no evidence for any special precautions or advice regarding botulinum toxin.

Some known side-effects of botulinum toxin are very similar to those of a vaccine (e.g. headache, flu-like symptoms, nausea), therefore please avoid scheduling a treatment within two weeks (before or after) of a vaccine.

This time frame allows for any possible post-treatment side effects to settle.
